2 Ways To Control Mice In Your House

admin

Mice can destroy your house and your food. You don't want to have mice in your house, which means that you need to get some help to get rid of them and to make sure that they don't come back or don't get a foothold in your house at all. There are several things that you can do that will help you get rid of mice, stay that way, or make sure that they stay away in the first place.

Get Rid of Clutter

One thing that you should do is get rid of any clutter around the foundation of your house. Things like mulch, debris, or even trees and shrubs too close to your foundation will give the mice somewhere to hide. Letting them hide that close to your house lets them have a chance to start to nibble their way into your house or to find existing holes that will let them get into your house. This doesn't mean that you can't have shrubbery or mulch by your house, but you want to make sure that you keep a little space apart from the mulch or shrubs and your foundation.

Traps and Bait

You can also place traps and bait in your house if you have mice inside your house. Traps come in live traps, snap traps, and glue traps, most commonly. A snap trap will break the mouse's next when the mouse takes the bait. Live traps will catch mice and keep them alive, which means that someone will need to release the mice outside. Glue traps will catch mice as they run across and keep them from going anywhere else. Bait generally refers to poison that you can put down that will attract the mice and kill them. If you have pets or small children, you should spend some time thinking about if you want to use bait stations because that poison can affect your children or your pets as well. The bait can be placed so that you can lessen any exposure risk to your kids or your pets. If you do use bait and have pets, you will want to make sure that they aren't catching the mice, because they can get secondhand poisoning from the mice.

If you have mice, you can always call mice extermination services. They will come to your house and help you get rid of them. You can also call an exterminator so that they can help you to avoid having an infestation altogether.
